Comment: Heard of the Gumps strip for years, but never bothered to read any. MY MISTAKE. This was a charming and engrossing tale, and now I'm on the hunt for more examples! ODD FACT: I read in Wikipedia that the TV actor, Martin Landau, was once an assistant on this comic strip when drawn by the second artist, Gus Edson. Mr. Landau seemed so serious in his acting roles! Thanks, SuperScrounge, for the Gumps reprint info. My search proceeds . . .

Comment: According to the Grand Comics Database The Gumps strips were reprinted in Popular Comics #1-27 & 67-138, Super Comics #1-36, Four Color #73, other odd one-shots & The Library of American Comics Essentials #2. There may be some duplication of strips.
